Major Samantha Carter

Samantha Carter is blonde, 5-feet 8 1/2 (171 cm) tall, usually makes herself up with a red lipstick. She likes to change her hairstyle from time to time. She usually wears green uniform and green fatigues, even though sometimes she can be seen in a blue one.

Outside the work she likes to wear jeans (unless she goes to some special occasions). She likes to visit her little friend Cassandra at Janet Fraiser's house in Toronto. She is single. Her father is General Jacob (Jake) Carter, she also has a brother (whose name is Mark) who lives in San Diego with two kids - a boy and a girl - of his own. Her mother died in an accident when Samantha was a child. Jacob was supposed to pick Sam's mother up but he was late, so she took a cab.

There was an accident in which she died. Since then, until very recently, Jacob and Mark haven't talked to each other, however, Samantha has reconciled with her father and forgiven him. Samantha, who likes to be called Sam, is a theoretic astrophysicist - holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Mechanics and is a plasma/particle physics expert - and military being a Major (previously she was a Captain but she was promoted to the rank of Major on July 9, 1999). Since her childhood she has dreamed of going to space she had to wait for a long time for this dream to come true.

Sam Carter has a very strong personality. She is very dedicated to her job, and eager to fulfill her duties. However, she can decide to oppose to her orders if she truly thinks she is right. Sam's personality is also a clash between very strong (as a military) and having a strong need to love and to be loved. Of her likes and dislikes we can say that she hates sandy planets, she drinks coffee and beer but doesn't like cookies so much.
